Sunny Day, Let's Have Fun Day

Whew, it's hot here in Texas, my dear readers! And when the thermometer pushes past 95 degrees, the only thing I want to do is lay by the pool, swim in a lake, or have some fun splashing around at a water park! If that sounds like you, then today I will share with you my top 5 local water parks and play areas that you and your family can enjoy while staying cool during the hot summer!

Let's start with a smaller, local favorite in Roanoke, TX, and that is Hawaiian Falls! With their island-themed inspired park, this is a great place for kids of all sizes to enjoy cooling off! You can spend the day here with day and seasonal pass options, and they even have food and snacks available. Plus, easy parking makes it a breeze to get there. Just make sure to wear plenty of sunscreen unless you want to return home looking like a crispy fried chicken!

Next on the list is the Paradise Springs Water Park at the Gaylord Texan in Grapevine. If you're looking to book a staycation for the whole family, come to the Gaylord and enjoy the water park as a perk of your stay! With slides and a lazy river, it's like a mini-vacation right in your backyard. And guess what? They have an open bar for the adults! So while the kids are busy splashing around, you can relax with a refreshing drink in hand. They even have cabanas available for those who prefer a little shade, in case you want to feel like a VIP while watching your kids go wild in the water.

Now, if you want all-year-round fun, check out The Cove at the Lakefront in Little Elm, TX. This water park has a retractable roof, so weather has no bearing on the fun in the water. Rain or shine, you can enjoy a splash-tastic time here! They even offer swimming lessons for those who need a little help perfecting their strokes. And if you're feeling extra adventurous, they have surf lessons too! Who knew you could ride the waves in the middle of Texas?

But hey, maybe pools aren't your thing, and you'd prefer to be on a lake. Well, fear not, my water-loving friends! Check out Hydrous Wake Park, either in Little Elm or Allen, TX. These locations consist of man-made lakes with cable towing, giving folks an opportunity to wakeboard, ski, or boogie board without the need for a boat. It's like being a superhero gliding over the water! They even offer lessons for first-timers, so you don't have to worry about looking like a flailing fish out of water. It's a fun and exhilarating experience that will have you hooked in no time!

Last but not least, we have the Life Time Fitness club and pool. This reasonable gym membership not only allows you to get in shape but also gives you access to a resort-style pool and bar, along with water slides and lap pools. It's the perfect place to bring the whole family for a day of fun and fitness. You can swim some laps while the kids slide down the water slides, and afterward, you can all enjoy a refreshing beverage at the poolside bar. Who says you can't have your cake and eat it too? Well, in this case, your cake is a poolside cocktail!

So there you have it, dear readers! If you're looking to stay cool and splash around with the family, check out these fun locals and get your tan on! All of these locations are great family-friendly and community-oriented towns that make a wonderful home. So, if you're looking to settle down, give me a call, and let's find that perfect palace! Just remember to bring your swimsuit and a sense of adventure. Happy summer splashing!
